Hey Mike,
Look, if you hang here , Why don't you drop a line and entertain the troops every so often- You've got great hands,
great gear, great product- Why worry?

Re: Burr Brown
Whats WIMA caps?

Is Burr Brown JFETs the same as an op amp? Do they make discrete JFETs as well?

WIMA is a brand of cap - usually box style metallized poly. Antique Electronic Supply has them www.tubesandmore.com

I was wondering about the Burr Brown myself.

I couldn't find any discrete components on the Burr Brown website (www.burr-brown.com). Could be a JFET op-amp. BB specializes in that hifi sort of thing.

WIMA caps are an imported brand (Holland?) which are indeed very pricey - at my local shop, they're four times the price of generic caps at the same voltage rating. IMHO they're a little hifi sounding, a good thing in certain places (I like them in phase inverters and as the first cap in the signal path.)

IMHO if Mike uses only those caps in his new pedal ,He's
gonna be disappointed! It's not going to be as warm as he thinks. A good stew has a lot of ingredients and you have to
mix it up and know how much of each to use (and where to use what). as for BB, well ask Gus.
I hope this makes sence, Ed R.
