Re: Envelope Follower
I think it feeds noise or something into the sample and hold circuit or something and it just generates random cutoff frequencies so it's a one-trick-pony. Yes, it sounds great and it's a fun pedal but it's so rare I don't want to get it stolen or lost so I'm going to build myself a Neutron at some point soon. Real soon I hope.

As someone who's built one of these recently, if I can offer a bit of advice: get R.G.'s board. If I had it to do over again, I would get the board and start modding from there. I built this one from scratch and it was a bear.

Oh, my bad: you said the "Neutron" didn't you? That *is* R.G.'s name for it, right? Never mind...

You might want to check this guy's site out. look under the projects links for VCF.

Full circuit daiagrams online and you can buy the pcb. I'm going to get one in a few weeks when I've got time to build one.

Full lfo, env follow, gated env etc control of a Moog filter, looks good.

Steve.

Yeah. Tony's done some good modular synth stuff. The VCF pcb in that one is 15" in the long dimension. That's my problem again - how do you get that into a stomp box?

I'm trying to stay away from surface mount parts.

How to get Tony Allgood's filter into a box? Think outsidre the square.. since the controls are on the front, just put it in a rack size box and put your other pedals on top. Then you dont have to bend so far.

Mark Hammer said,
"The Moogfooger (sheesh, when will pedal manufacturers stop with the names that almost sound like dirty words/phrases)"...
I don't suppose he wants to know the envelope follower I manufacture (Frostwave P/L) is called the Funk.a.Duck ;-)
Still, anything will offend someone. Some fundamentalist Christians consider 'sheesh' as blasphemy..

Mark,

Thanks for the dissertation. I've been considering buying/building one of these and this info comes in handy.

The PAIA unit tweaks my interest...
