Cry Baby thin sound I got a GCB-95 wah that, to my ears, sound very thin and nasal. It looses all the bass response. I have modded it to true bypass with a DPDT switch, this has nothing to do with the sound of it I hope. Is there a cap I should check or something? |

| Gus | Go to R.G. site in the wha article he spells out what does what in the circuit. FWIW I like a .022 to .033 cap in place of the .01uf from the emitter of the 2nd/3r transistor I rebuilt a wha using a 4 pole dip switch(think binary) 16 different cap values a .01,.022,.047,.1 are in there now next one I do the values will be .0047,.01,.022,.047. the values add. some wha's need different caps because of the inductors values. |

Hi Jim. Take a look at R.G's site GEO. In the effects FAQ there is some advice concerning broken effects, "thin" wah's too. I also recommend reading RG's Technoligy of WAH, very detailed, and with nice suggestions to make "your own private sound". Preben. |

Thank you both, it seems that every question in this forum end up with "read R.G.'s FAQ".... I will! |

Could be the inductor. I have two GCB-95s, and one is definitely thinner sounding and lacks the resonant "quack" that the other has. On the thinner sounding GCB, I tried changing everything(changing the parts value and type) except the inductor, and I couldn't get the sound "to happen". If the sound of your GCB is thin, and the wah effect is weak sounding, I would bet on the inductor to be the source of your sonic woes. Dai Hirokawa |

No, I have enough "quack" but no bass response. I will try replacing the input 0,1 uF with 0,22 uF soon. |
