tube driven stomp box schems?
hi
I have managed to find a scheme for a tube driver, I'm wondering if anyone knows a source for a scheme of the real tube by tube works or similar circuits? or does anyone have any experience with the tube driver? Also I feel like a moron for asking as I've been modding my amps for ages, but on this tube driver scheme I find a point labeled "VR" tied to several locations (inputs to op-amps, etc). what the heck is VR? and wheres the 120vac? thanks in advance for any help!

"Vr" is a common designation for "reference voltage", a single voltage generated only for the purpose of biasing things like opamps.

I don't know about the specific tube driver you're looking at, but I suspect that whomever drew up the schematic just didn't draw in the full power supply. Kind of left as an exercise for the student.

By the way, there are several tube preamp effects at GEO; the Guyatone, the Alembic preamp, and the Westbury. However, I notice that in the move from eden.com to geofex.com, they got unlinked. I'm working on getting the links updated now.

If it's the TubeDriver I think youre talking about (from Jack Orman's site, also look at the chandler tube driver thread) it's running on 9VDC (!!!) and uses opamps and one tube. Same one?
Then build the schem, and for juice use a 9vDC adapter (actually I use 12V - sounds better, and the filaments are running within spec). The Vr is drawn in there, it's half the main power supply (4.5V, or 6) and pulled from between two equal resistors from + to mass, add a small filtercap.... See if you can locate this in the schem.

I looked for the Alembic, Guyatone, and Wesbury preamps on your site but couldn't find them, have you linked them yet?

Not in a hurry, just curious,
