Fender Reissue Reverb Mods???
Can someone point me in the right direction for getting information on the modifications that make the reissues sound closer to the originals? TIA!

Those mods did a lot tone-wise for my reissue. I use a 5751 for the first tube however, but I've been always partial to those. Also you can try a 2.2k resistor across the footswitch jack as described in the "desktop reference etc". I was skeptical at first about that one, but it really did enrich the tone. My suggestion is not to even bother with any cap under 470pf. Good Luck. Joe

I think that's supposed to be a 220K resistor, not 2.2k. In any case, the reissue already has a 1M resistor across the footswitch, just one of the differences between the reissue and the original circuit.

I can think of three others...can anyone else ?

A few differences are:

1. 6V6 instead of a 6K6.
2. 56v zener across the 6V6 cathode bias resistor.
3. Full wave bridge in lieu of 1/2 wave diode string.
4. Extra components between PS ground and chassis, 15 ohm resistor, paralleled with forward & reversed diodes.
5. Footswitch connector is 1/4" phone plug instead of RCA phono plug.

Hey Doc,
Which, if any, of these mods would you recomend to be done on a original, besides thwe 6V6 of course. Oh, by the way my original (a bone stock 65) has a phono jack, not a RCA, have you seen this, maybe mine isn't as original as I thought!
Also different, I believe the reissue doesn't have that SHOCKING AC plug in back.
Just a question, Where is the best place in the signal chain to put these. Obviously you want it after most effects, but can you damage one of these with a big boost from a screamer or overdrive?

One more...the .1 uF capacitor across the input to the full wave rectifier.
