What fuzz box does Toni Iommi use?

steve	What fuzz box does Toni Iommi use? Does anyone know what Toni Iommi used back in the   day...Say maybe 1971-1974. I thought about   buying a fuzz face and running it before my wah   to get that Electric Funeral sound!   Thanks,   Steve

R.G.	I believe that was a Dallas Rangemaster overdriving a tube amp front end, from the reading I've done.

GFR	A Dallas Rangemaster into a Marshall or Laney. And of course a Gibson SG. Tuning the guitar low also helps to make it heavier.     Altough it's not what was used originally, you may want to try a Fuzz Face with a Ge transistor for the first position and a high gain Si for Q2. You will need to fine tune the input cap. It can get you very close to that early Sabbath sound.

Stan Bailey	That 2.2uF makes the F.F. pretty thick. You may try lowering the value to something like 1uF, 0.1uF or lower to let less low frequencies through (trust your ears). I'm sure somebody knows of a high gain pnp silicon, or you can just reverse the polarity of the caps, and trannys and use npns.
