Re: Compressors P.S. I forgot to also mention that this Ross had almost twice of the available gain, works great in front of a tube screamer, or even after it for that mater. |

Re: Compressors Hi Ed, Since you have the schematic ,I would like like to have a copy of it. Could you scan it and send it to my address ? Would really appreciate it. By the way I used to haev the old MXR dynacomp with the 3080 in it but sold it and some time ago I bought the reissue but didn't get the same result with it: it seems to have a diffent chip, sounded reasonable but the releasetime is too long for me. Would anybody know how to fix this ? Regards Alfons |

Hi Ed, There seems to be a lot of interest in that Ross compressor, I tried one in the mid/late 70's and was very impressed. I ended up with a Dyna-Comp (still have it) for some reason I can't remember. I recall that the range of compression on thr Ross was much greater. Anyway, I f you could email GEO, or aron or AMZ a copy of the schematic, I'm sure a lot of us would love to see it. -Eric |

Currently Ed and myself are trying to get a complete schematic together to post to GEO, AMZ, Aron's etc. But we apparently have two different pedals. Mine has an LED/LDR unit while his does not. We'll keep y'all posted. Jay Doyle |

Yeah, I'd be glad to post both, as well as doing some comparison and contrast on the circuits. |

Another dynacomp clone have to be mentioned , It's called "The Choker" from LOCOBOX (yellow painted , aluminium box ) , by quick checking the circuit looks like a similar , using a 3080 and so on. (if added fet buffering isn't counted) I have one , and its like Block logo dynacomp , much cheaper though . I think these are not made anymore. Jukka |

Mike, I bought an MXR Dynacomp over the weekend. During the try out, I found the MXR quite able to handle my heavy-handed input without distortion. It seemed very "smooth". Later, DJ |
