Re: Sweetest pedal.. thickness/dynamics I think that dist pedals sound thin because there is too much clipping. The higher harmonics are too dominant. You could try EQ after dist and boost bass, but the sound will be muddy as there are lots of 2nd and 3rd harmonics at lower frequencies. I think that you should have an HP filter before clipping stage (2nd order, 12 dB/oct), then the clipping stage and a LP stage followed by that. This way the lower notes don't distort as much as higher tones. You could possible get a really nice distortion by adjusting the HP to a frequency ABOVE the fundamental of all notes on guitar's scale, then distorting just the harmonics and filtering the output. |
