What type of mod can I do to decrease  
 
midrange in my rat pedal? I can't cut  
 
the mids which results in muddiness.  
 
Is it possible that my amp (HiwattDR103)  
 
just isn't compatable? I'm trying to get a  
 
decent sound at a low volume level so  
 
I don't blast my neibors.

I Don't know about the mids, but in my RAT I did change the "clipping diodes" to germanium’s with a very good results - try it and you will not be disappointed.
