Gus Re: Colorsound Wah info/schematic?
A friends Colorsound sound real good to me. I thik some of the older ones are the same. Part of the cool sound is how the linkage is made a offset forked arm on the shaft of the conductive plastic pot.

Did you get that god-awful makeshift-looking pedal/case thing that PAiA sold with their kit, or make your own?

I was 16 at the time, and had been given a dead Apollo Wah. I gutted the case and put my wah in there. Worked... kind of. I dumped the lamp/LDR of the original in favor of the pot that was already in the case.

I still have the case and wah, by the way. I found it in some boxes in the attic. Ugh! Did I really do something that ugly?

R.G. I do not have my old PAIA catalogs. Was it an IC or transistor based wha??

R.G.

It was two transistors, but one was an emitter follower buffer. Otherwise it was very like the CS one. A high gain transistor stage with twin-tee feedback, and some way of adusting the gain so it didn't oscillate on its own. The resistor at the bottom of the 2-capacitor T was variable for moving the resonance.

This was from the pages of Poptronics, back when dinosaurs roamed the earth.
