Steve A.: How's Gina?
Have you installed "her" yet? How did it go? What do you think of the card? The drivers? The manual?

My 13 year old nephew spent most of his Spring Break at my condo monopolizing my "music" computer playing computer games...

One of the things I want to do with "Gina" is transfer some of my old 4 track analog tapes to the hard drive (some with FSK for MIDI tracks, some without). For the ones with FSK I guess I could record the FSK track to the hd first and then use that signal to sync the other tape and MIDI tracks? For the ones w/o FSK I guess I could transfer 2 tracks at a time and then use one of the editors to sync them up manually. Any other ideas?

P.S. Their manual was top notch, but I wish that there was more documentation for the included software...

This is actually kind of a relief: I had this vision that Gina had locked up your system and you couldn't get online!

Sounds good. I might be tempted to ditch the FSK track, though, and just record the audio, then cut and paste the MIDI into the sequencer next to the WAVs (I'm talking about a sequencer that can handle MIDI and WAV together).

This can be kind of tricky, actually; every time a tape plays back, it plays back a little differently. It may not be possible to sync them perfectly if they're recorded at separate times. Is there any way you can put another soundcard in there to get two more WAV ins? An AWE64 or an SB16, even?

If not, then I think your suggestion is the best. Record two tracks at a time, then cut and paste them into Cool Edit (I think that's what comes with Gina), then sync them up. Probably will be good enough.

Have you checked out at the manufacturer's Web sites? Might be some pdf files out there...

So, all in all, installation was okay, then?

Thanks for the suggestions! (I keep forgetting that I can use the SB card, too, to record 4 tracks at a time. Would definitely put the "low-fi" tracks through the SB-16 PNP card...) For 2 more 20-bit analog inputs I could just add in a Darla card later- right? (That would give me 16 analog outputs!)

Thanks!
