Dave Chun	Anyone have the "Basic Pickup Winding" book? Full title "Basic Pickup Winding and how to make your own pickup winder". Any reviews, info, good, bad, whatnot? I can only mail order it, and at $30CDN for 49 pages, it's a mite pricey. Any info appreciated.

I saw a copy of that book at the last big Phila. guitar show. It was on display at the J.K.Lutherie booth (they always have a big ad in Vintage Guitar rag). There are drawings and photos on building a practical benchtop winder. I thought it had some pretty clever features, that would only become evident through evolutionary improvements after putting a basic winder together and fixing its flaws. I think the book is worth the money if it will save you time & aggravation in actual pickup winding operations. I would have purchased the book without reservations, but spent all my money on other items that day.
