Squier "Jagmaster"
Ok, Ok, go ahead and laugh :) I do repairs for a large music store in the area; and recently, after dropping off some repaired units and while waiting for my check, I took a little stroll around the store and checked out the new guitars. I saw this blue "Jagmaster" with a rosewood fretboard hanging on the wall and I was quite taken with its appearance. It was like a Jazzmaster with humbuckers and a Strat tremolo. The price was very reasonable and it looked like it could be a fun guitar to have. I didn't get a chance to try it out, though. Any comments on this model from owners or those who've given them a good test drive?

Dave, did you ever buy one of these? I haven't, either. But I know what you mean. They all seem to have a nicely finished tinted neck w/ rosewood FB, with a profile and short scale length like a Jaguar. I think the candy blue metalflake is the best looking paint they offer on this model (it looks great on a '74 Norton Commando, where it's a stock color). I do know a guy that bought one 2 yrs ago and uses it on stage. I'm not in touch with him currently, so can't get any first-hand user comments.

The ones I've picked up & fondled were very well finished. You wouldn't need to complete the manufacturing process, like you do on so many bargain-priced models these days. Change out the generic humbuckers for some decent ones of your choice, and that's it.

Dave: I apologize. All my comments were in reference to the Supersonic model, not the Jagmaster. -Doc
