James Rocktek Pedals
Does anyone know Rocktek's new location and phone number? I remember a post saying someone sent an effect back to them and they replaced it with a new one. I have a chorus pedal and the input jack is shorting. Maybe someone knows where I can buy a replacement jack. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
James

Don't know where they are, but I had one of those
chorus pedals for a while. They are easily converted
to a more flanger-like sound by swapping one of the
capacitors for a smaller value.

If you look inside, you should see a chip with the
number 3101 (or 3102, I forget). Right near it is
a small ceramic capacitor (somewhere under 680pf, if
my memory serves me correctly). This capacitor sets
the basic time delay range. If you replace it with
one of approximately 1/2 to 1/3 of the original value,
the time delay will be shortened, pushing the device
into the range of a flanger. So, if the value there
is 220pf (hypothetically), and the delay range is
6-10ms, cutting back the cap value to 100pf would
reduce the delay time by a similar amount (roughly
3-5ms). It won't be the best flanger in the world,
but then it wasn't the best chorus either. I found
there was room on mine to install a little 3-position
toggle switch that I used to select long, medium,
and short delay ranges. Again, not a brilliant effect,
but a broader pallette to choose from for very
little outlay.

The same mod can generally be done on virtually
any analog chorus or flanger device.
