Real McCoy wah-wah Has any one ever listened to this wah? How does it compare to whats out there? Is it using a special inductor? Steve |

I've heard it. The Real McCoy Wah is tunable to be just about anything you want out of a wah, and then some. EVERYTHING is designed to be tunable. Geoffrey Teese, the guy who makes these, has spent a ton of time and money developing this beast. He does custom tuning of them, and has a very subtle ear for wah tones. The inductor is special. He apparently dug out what cores were used in the original Voxes, and now has them custom made for his pedals. The RMC's are expensive - $300 or so - but they do offer a lot of room to get just the sound you want. Geoffrey just introduced a drop in mod board for the Vox reissue wahs that is a killer. I have one of these. The board drops in to the case, same mounting holes and connector as the original, maybe a minute to do, and only slightly more complicated than changing a battery. They're $93, considerably less challenging than a full RMC. It's a real eye opener to play the Vox reissue (not a bad wah at all to start with) then drop in the mod board and play. Going back to the reissue Vox board is very tough to do after you listen to the mod board. You can reach Geoffrey at 805-983-6047. He's easy to talk to, and very helpful. I don't have any financial interest in his stuff. It's just good. |

Hi, how does it "ab" against the PAT budda wah? Can I get that Quick Silver Messenger Service sound? Steve |

I wish I knew! I've never heard a PAT budda wah. Geoffrey would not be shy about discussing that with you, though. I don't know that the RMC is better than -every- wah, just every one I've heard.... |
