No luck with EWB. I tried NPN & PNP with leads connected every which way. I also tried replacing D1/D2 with resistors to make a 4.5v reference. Still no luck.

Re: Need help now/Send it?
Obviously this thing is too complicated for me to figure out at this moment and my Shaka III is crying for me to work on it.

I now offer to send it to either Jack or R.G. Whoever has time to look at, please email me and I will mail it.

The pedal is really amazing sounding. It's really worth it to try and figure this one out.

Thanks,

I suspect your tracing is correct.

Re: Need help now
Pin 1 is not connected. I have verified this. A leg of the transistor goes to pin 5 for sure.

Yes, no tone control pot. The switch is supposed to control the tone by changing the midrange characteristic.

No, that's not the muff tone control. It's very close to a dupe of another pedal - maybe the Boss Tone, but the name escapes me for the moment.

Making D1 and D2 2.7v zeners makes the thing work in EWB.... with an NPN transistor, collector to the V+, base to the Vos pin and emitter to output.

Shows asymmetrical clipping on the output.

Aron, can you sub some low value zeners into your prototype and see how that sounds?
