2V7 83C ?????

OK,  
 
One more:  
 
What looks like a diode with a band on one end, is light blue with a darker (black?) band and has 2V7 and 83C on the side???  
 
I thought it was a diode until I tested it.  
 
It tests .671 v in one direction and 1.897 in the other.  
 
If I test ohms, it gives me a huge number +3M  
 
Please help.

Crap.  
 
It might be a 83C2V7 diode. Why do I get two readings? I thought that it should only give me a reading in one direction?

I believe that's a 2.7v zener diode. It will give you readings in both directions.
