Superfuzz components
A friend gave me an old Univox that was in kind of rough shape. While bringing it back to life, I discovered a few differences from the schematic. The 22k resistor before Q1 is not there, the .0022uf on Q2 is .001uf, the electro cap on Q5 in the diff. amp was put in with the wrong polarity, and the 100uf that goes to ground was only 10uf. This is one of the older ones I think. It looks like the one at this link, only mine is grey.

What does it sound like? Exactly like "Journey to the center of the mind" Mark

There were at least six slightly different versions of that same circuit from Unicord, Univox, Apollo, and a couple of unknown manufacturers.

By the way, you can put two matched BS170's or 2N7000 MOSFETs in for the octave/diffamp and correct the bias for a much less harsh octave. That's one of the inspirations for the MOS Doubler.

Cool. I'll try it with the one I built from scratch. This thing has some serious drift of resistor and cap values, causing a really cool low harmonic effect. If you play 5ths on the low E and A strings, it will produce a slight octave down harmonic to be heard. It sounds like someone is playing a bass along with you. If you play thirds on the A and D strings, you get a perfect 4th below whatever note you have on the A string, creating an inverted triad. The octave up is quite nice sounding. This is a really fun pedal. Mark
