Phaser Schematics Hi I am interested in any info from anyone who has built a phaser. I have a schematic for a Small Stone (from Aron's page I think?) but apparently it has errors. Can anyone suggest a schematic for a phaser that they have built successfully? thanks Andrew |

The univibe is a good place to start. It's at GEO." target="_blank">http://www.eden.com/~keen">GEO. The 'vibe is a four-stage phaser. GEO also contains the schematics for the Phase 90 and a hyper-modded version of the P90 with twice as many stages called the P180. |

I will second the keen vibe, it works great and seems to be the least hassle rought for a phaser, plus you get a vibrato to boot.. out of every thing I have built I like the vibe the most...chip |

'Vibe Mods You're going to love the 'vibe mods then... I'm about through testing some mods to (a) put a high impedance buffer in the front (b) add stereo outs (c) add tremolo (d) use an LED/dual LDR to replace the dual pot As a side note, I got on a tear and decided to see just how small a 'vibe could be made. The layout is down to 1.9" by 3.2", and includes all four of the mods. Of course, there isn't any such thing as a free lunch -- the resistors all stand on end, and only specific part number Mouser capacitors will work, and the thing has to be fed pre-filtered DC, not have the power conversion on the board -- but I thought if I could get it into a Hammond 1590BB, it might be worth the tradeoffs. It goes into a Crybaby shell easily! |

r.g. ya gona sell a toner for it ? I want one... I want one!!!. |

I'm not sure that toners are practical for everyone for this one. I had to depart from my normal 0.03" wide traces and no traces between pads on 0.100" spacings and go to 0.015" traces and one line between pads. That's a step up in toner difficulty, and it requires some practice and skill. I may just go directly to PCB's on this one. The finer lines are easy compared to most commercial boards. You can add most of the mods to the one you have running, I think. ... unless you really need two... |

R.G., I'd like to put my two cents in and lobby for LARGER PCB layouts. I know this goes against the grain of most threads on this forum, but as an "advanced beginner" in the DIY effects hobby, I have so much better results with nice roomy layouts with nice thick traces and good sized pads. That's one thing I really like about Jack Orman's projects, the layouts are so easy for a beginner. Is there any chance you would consider making some optional layouts available for sale where small size is not as important as ease of construction for beginners? I hope you don't take this as a criticism...it's just a suggestion, and feel free to tell me to "get over it" and get to work practicing my soldering skills and PNP ironing techniques! JD |
