I havent proto'd it yet cause its late and i just got the parts today-I'll get to it this weekend. Here it is--- All of the 2.2 caps on mine are non-polarized and I couldn't find one 1k pot(blast that local Radio Shack!). My question is, is there any thing i should be aware of possible damage to the components (FET in particular) or otherwise, besides some oscillations and 60Hz hum?

The 2.2NP caps should be fine. You gotta have the 1k pot ( a 2k might do the job) so that the bias is set correctly. Not much else to worry about except overheating the transistors while soldering. Be sure to connect the board ground with the in/out jack grounds and you're in business.
