Schems for Tech 21 XXL and MesaBoogie V-twin pedal
Anybody seen the schems for these two pedals. I know the're fairly new, so, schematics for them are hard to find. Thanks.

I have an XXL that was loaned to me by Tech 21 for some tests. It has a blob of epoxy on the circuit board to hide some of the details. I agreed not to trace the board so no help here.

Have to respect you. Just out of curiosiuty, what do you think of it. I've heard mixed reviews. I can't find it in my area so i wanted to build one and test one out before i ordered one. The even/odd harmonic adjuster (Warp) seems intersting.I like a fluid tone. If you have an opinion, respond. If not, thanks.

When I hear "odd/even adjuster" I think of blending between two types of diodes (Ge/Si/LEDs/whatnot)... ideas, anyone?

Re: Schems for Tech 21 XXL and MesaBoogie V-twin pedal
There was a lot of negative feedback on the effects database on harmony-central.com about the XXL. Most of the reviewers complained that they couldn't hear any difference while playing with the warp control, though most admitted they had only used one in the store. Eventually someone contacted tech 21 about them and the reply was also posted in the database. Tech 21 said that the Warp only really changes the attack and that if they struck a note or chord and then started turning the knob, the difference wouldn't be noticed, but it would if they adjusted the knob and then picked the note or chord. Whiule the explaination makes sense, it didn't seem to be the way they were marketing it ("a twist of the warp, knob to turn from overdrive to big muff to fuzz face," etc., etc.)

Has anyone seen the pedal from Black Cat that apparently you switch a switch and to changes semi-conductors for a variety of fuxx clones?

Well, I did some work for Tech 21 on this box and the web page should be up in the next month. You can definitely hear the difference between the Warp settings. I found that on some guitars, i.e. Les Paul, it was hard to hear the difference. On a Strat, the different Warp setting were obvious. It has MUCHO gain! There is plenty of boost in this box.

It will give a long sustaining smooth sound. The tone control doesn't rolloff as low as a TS-9 but it can do a fairly good imitation of one.

You can hear samples of the xxl by loading:

If I had one for a couple of hours, I might be able to figure it out.

I have no preexisting agreements not to divulge anything about the Tech 21 or Mesa V-Twin, although I do have non disclosure agreements about several others.
