Superfuzz schematic error R.G.Keen is a busy guy, and as it is with busy guys, he makes a mistake once in a while. I would normally send this note to him/you personally, but in the absence of e-mail, this is my only mode of communication. Please note, the schematic for a Univox Superfuzz posted at RG's GEO website (www.eden.com/~keen) will likely not work as illustrated. If you look closely, the node for the positive end of the 9v battery stopped a wee bit short of where it was headed. The schematic GIF shows +9v tied to the back-to-back pair of diodes (the clipping circuit). It *should* be tied one line higher on the diagram instead, up in between the 100k resistor and 100uf capacitor. This way all that precious battery juice will make it to the collectors of all those sweet l'il transistors, as God (and RG) intended. Hope this avoids some mishaps, and allows RG to carry on in the fine tradition for insisting on all the details being correct. See ya. Mark |

ARRGHH!! Did -I- do -that-? You're absolutely right Mark, the battery connection should go to the next horizontal line up, not to the clipping diode connection. Sorry about that - I'll get the schematic updated in the next day or so. I'd do it now, but I'm at home, my first meeting at work starts in 13 minutes, and I have meetings until 6PM, when I actually get to start the day's work. |
