gibson maestro wah after finally getting the gumption to fix this old pedal i had lying around for years, i realized i was missing the gear on the pot. as i had another broken wah around-- a dunlop-- i used that. nonetheless the values of the pot are much different- the gibson has a 25k versus the 100k for the dunlop. although i like the range of the 100k pot i was wondering if the higher value is causing the overextended highs and lows. will switching back to the 25k lose some of the attack that makes this wah so nice? thanks for any reply jf |

The Maestro wah uses different bias resistor values than the Dunlop. This is probably why they use a 25k pot as opposed to the Dunlop. Change the resistors to the values for the Dunlop wah and check your pedal out with the 100k pot. Also for fun, leave the circuit just the way it is and replace the .01 cap on the emitter of the second transistor to a higher value (.047, .1, etc) and report back. I would be curious as to what sounds you get out of it. Thanks and hope this helps. Christian |
