Crybaby vs. Dunlop Crybaby I had an opportunity to look inside a Dunlop Original Crybaby ( newest version ) and I realized that its circuit design is different from the Crybaby schems one can find on the Net. Does anyone know what they have done different? Is there a schematic for one somewhere? Thanks for the tips. Christian |

Shoot, trace it out. It's not magic. If you can fix them, you can trace them. I suspect that they have not strayed very far from the original circuit. They probably just redid the circuit board to eliminate some hand wiring. |

Thanks for the obvious tip. You are right, I could trace it out just as I have done many other pedals on my repair bench. However, I don't want to have to buy a Dunlop wah just to trace its circuit. After close investigation of a Dunlop Crybaby at a pawn shop, there is an added transistor that sparked my curiosity and I am always looking for different ideas when it comes to wah's. Thanks for the reply, Christian |

If you are looking for new ideas I have a few...not original but they may be cool. Try messing with the inductor. Budda amplification makes the Buddah wah which has a inductor similar or the original Vox wahs(Italian). Or If you want wierd try a VCF or a parametric eq where the frequency sweep is controled by a wah like pedal design. Good luck, Steve |
