Hyperspace Pedal Tom Scholz of Boston uses a device he built called a hyperspace pedal. He built it around a highly modified echoplex. I know little about the details of it, but from listening to it being demonstrated during an interview, it sounds like the record and/or playback heads are continously moveable and that the motor speed of the unit is also continously variable. Does anyone out there know the finer details of this machine? The effect is hard to describe, but if you are familiar with Boston's music, you have heard it. |
