On/Off LED indicator light I recall reading somewhere that a 3PDT switch can be used to incorporate an On/Off LED in a homebrewed effects box. But how should one go about supplying the power to the LED? |

RG Keen has that switch. His e-mail addr. is keen@eden.com and web is GEO -something? Anyway, it is a good idea and I know RG can help. Christian |

Here's what you do. 1) wire up two of the poles to make a conventional true bypass. 2) connect your "power" LED to a resistor to limit current flow; assuming a 9vdc power supply, a 2.2k resistor should be fine. 3) connect the +9v line from the effect to the resistor/LED, the LED to the switch (as below), and the switch to ground. The LED will now turn on whenever the effect is engaged. Please note that the LED consumes power, and will reduce the lifespan of your battery. You can adjust the brightness of the LED by adjusting the value of the series resistor within the 1k-3.3k range. Brighter LED values will increase battery consumption. (I'll leave the current calculations to the techies).
