Win a Siemens 6S ELA 2427e!
Hallo everybody,

I had the (big?) luck of saving 3 Siemens 6S ELA 2427e amplifiers from the junkyard!
These are 10Watt full tube amps with an input transformer switchable from Line to Mic etc., Bass, Treble and Master-Pots. They are sized like 14x10x10 inches in near perfect condition and waiting to become the coolest living-room poweramp for my 19"gear (my 9100 is too loud at home :-(
Anybody out there with an idea what to do with
them? The best entry wins one 6S for free! (except postage!, 10kg overseas, ouch...)

Thanks for any input,
Hellmut

Hellmut,

Can you tell us what the current set of tubes are, and maybe some indication of what specifications/size the power and output transformers are?

Is there a schematic for that Siemens unit somewhere on the net?

I'm sure would like a chance to win the contest! :-)

Hallo all,

I have not yet researched anything, except the size of the case, which is more like 14" wide, and 8"x8" high and deep. I'm more used to centimeters, sorry ;-) It's made of heavy duty "hammer-hit laquered" metal. scuz my English.
My day is so stuffed with my 3D-animator job, my way more than hobbylike musicianship, being beta tester for M***** and all that stuff got me the idea to give one of you the chance to get one Siemens for free in exchange for some tips that bring fast satisfaction ;-)
I can't yet decide whether to use 2 as Hifi-monoblocks or for guitar which I prefer. Excuse this dummy question, would a guitar specific modification make it Hifi-incompatible or vice versa?
The other otion would be to put in a preamp with 2 or 3 tubes. There's sure enough room for tubes, pots, switches, ins/outs, fx loops, midi computers, ups sorry, the latter is just theory.
Have fun,
Hellmut
