Dummy amp load I love this kind of thing: The Jan 1999 "Audio Electronics" had an article in which someone made a dummy load from heating element pieces out of a burnt-out clothes dryer. nice! btw got to spend some serious quality time with a Marshall power brake, and I'm here to tell ya it WORKS. Works great up until the attenuator is backed off to 12 o'clock.. which incorporated all the usuable "gigging" settings anyhow.. (no, it doesn't keep the tone at bedroom levels, but nothing does) I don't know why these things get slagged so much. We ran it with several different 50W heads and it sounded great with all of them. Kept the highs & lows in balance, and kept the "punch" too. I need one. |
