Having had a site there for a few months, I thought I'd explain how those pop-ups work (and how to get rid of them- which has changed 2 or 3 times in 5 months).

If you include a link to their GeoGuide on at least one of your main pages, the NetScape pop-ups can be disabled. GeoCities said that the GeoGuide link had to be on the top of your page, but I stuck it on the bottom (so that it was not so distracting) and that has worked so far. Of course, the G.C. police may report me for infractions so I better keep my fingers crossed... (Incidentally, you have to include an ad for GeoCities on all of your HTM pages which slows down the load times.)

Re: banners at AMPAGE. They all seem to be very relevant to the interests here and if they are helping to pay the rent here, I can live with them.
