Princeton Rev. has more gain than Princeton?
: I have a BF Princeton Amp and I am wondering is there any difference in sound to the model with reverb, (all
other things being equal) as there is an extra tube. Specifically, mine seems to stay clean all the way up to 10 on the
dial, whereas Princeton Reverbs I have tried start to break up around 5 and really overdrive at 10. Could it be it
just needs new tubes and a service, or is the gain structure different from a Priceton Reverb, and I should get one
of those instead? Also, what tubes are recommended for 6v6's?

: Thanks for your tips.

There's an extra gain stage in the Princeton Rev,where the dry and reverb signals are mixed.BF Princetons I've had are pretty low gain amps, they don't overdrive much.
