Just a couple of resistors? Some time ago I asked if I could increase the gain in the third channel of my Marshall 6100LE. after trying somebody's suggestion, I changed the values of a couple of resistors in the third gain stage of my amp. The fact is that now it sounds WAY better to my ears and fingers. The question here is: Couldn't the designers put some kind of a trimpot there to make the customizing of the distortion easier to the customer, or it's something potentially dangerous in that practice? |
