Custom Hiwatt 100 I just picked up a Hiwatt Custom 100 (DR103) last night. It's in reasonable shape, a little tattered on the corners, chrome on the handle is gone. It kept blowing fuses so the guy bought a new Marshall and sold me this one. New filter caps and it should be good as old. Would anyone have an idea of what these are going for? I checked all the ads here in the LA area and there are none for sale. I din't even find too much from a search on the WEB. -john |

| Derrick | These amps are great and durable as hell. Pete Townshend used to beat the hell out of his but they rerely ever had problems an amp tech. told me. He serviced some of his amps when he came through here several years ago. To answer your question, they are prob. worth between $400 in poor condition, and $600 or so in great condition. The average price I see is about $500. (Thats just for the 100w head.) I was lucky enough to get a full stack, wich I got after hering THE WHO-LIVE AT LEEDS record (if you want to here them in there glory). They really do sound great, but they are about the loudest 100w amps you will encounter! They really move some air! Well, hope you have the open space to use it, and that I have helped, and most of all-enjoy! |
