tin filter caps in the uk
Does anyone know where I can buy filter caps for a twin in the UK. I would prefer the original type. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Hi Simon,
I have had the same problem sourcing caps over here as you seem to have. I have found a small supplier in Accrington Lancs who have a few items. The problem I have is getting axial electrolytics instead of the PCB designed ones.
Also for my large caps I now go to Marshall direct who send me 50x50uF/500V caps in the post for around £5 each.

Marshall, Milton Keynes - 01908 375411
Maplin are pretty useless for electrolytics. I have considered mail order from the US, checkout Hoffmans - http://www.ad-vantagenet.com/hoffman/ they may ne able to sort you out too.
Hope this helps,
Rob.

I got all my axial lead electrolytics from RS components. They did have up to 100u 450V at one time but highest value is now 47u 450V (July '97 cat.). They also have multi section chassis mount cans 50u + 50u at 500V. If you are at UMIST you could try the RS trade counter in Manchester.

Thankyou both for your help. I'll pursue these sources. Cheers Simon
