biasing question If I look at the chart for, in this case an EL84, set up P-P, I see the usual 300v plate, 36mA plate current, 4 mA grid current. But if I actually have a plate voltage of 330v what do I do? Do I go for the equivalent 10.8 watts of plate power dissipation by decreasing the current? Or do I just go for 36 mA of plate current? I don't want to cook my tubes, but at the same time I don't want to go towards crossover distortion. Any comments welcome. Thanks, Nate |
