BF Princeton 6BM8 I'm building a 6BM8 powered BF Princeton/Boogie amp using the triode section of one of the 6BM8s as the split load PI and the other for the tremolo. What changes to the circuit would I have to make for the 6BM8 to be used? BTW, the PT is 260-0-260 60mA Thanks in advance for any help! Corwin |

Go to http://www.svetlana.com for a datasheet. http://www.infomaniak.ch/~bonavolt/ecl82.htm has some push-pull schematics. You won't get as much power froma 6BM8 (or ECL82 as we call it in Europe) as a 6V6. Watch your plate voltage as well, if you use SS rectification with that transformer it might be a bit too high. Corwin: I got cut off the chat the other day. I was thinking princeton.. and said about 15 to 20 watts. but if you try to use the 6BM8 it won't be close to that. There are some other tubes you could use. 6BQ5, 6AV5,6AQ5,6BW6,6DG6. Some are easy to find and don't cost much, others may be harder to come by. But I thought i'd throw them in.Sounds like you would end up wil a lot of work and not much out of the 6BM8. [Richie] |
