Reissue twin problem Got a weird one here. I've got a reissue twin reverb on the bench that has a strange "ducking" effect only on the 'verb channel when the vol. is above 4. When I hit it hard the note falls off fast and comes back up. Sounds like there's a fast echo effect on. It doesn't do this on the normal channel when I play at levels louder, so I don't think this is a P. supply sag or output problem. I've changed out the tubes in the verb ch with no effect. The signal looks fine on the scope and also sounds fine with continuous playing. It's only on the sharp attacks that it does this. Anybody? |

| John Greene | Aaahhh, the ol' capacitor impulse effect syndrome.. I know it well. BS. I don't. But it does sound like a bad capacitor somewhere. It would have to be before the summing resistors and is probably a coupling capacitor. --johng |

Here is an article on preamp overloading. It may be your problem. Never came across it myself yet. http://duncanamps.simplenet.com/technical/overload.html Later... GVB |
