red/brown reptile tolex
Does anyone know where I can buy some RED or BROWN reptile pattern tolex (snake, alligator) I've got black and white, but I am looking for some in a dark brown or red/brown....like the paper-based imitation croc skin which bookbinders sometimes use. Their varnished and embossed paper stuff looks great, but unfortunately doesn't wear very well.
There was a tougher version which was at one time used on cheap suitcases, sewing machine covers, etc, but no-one seems to know if it is still made.
I don't want real crock skin, but a good imitation would look cool on a diy vintage style amp.

TIA....Stephen

I thnk RUBY sells some of the snake skin covering.
I left my catalog back at work on the bench so I can't look.
It is a reddish brown covering..
Seems like it was ver y pricey tough.

Stephen:

Have you contacted Zack Engineering's "Vibroworld"? They have a large assortment of coverings, but don't list what you're specifically describing on their web page.

Press the link button for their "TECH" sction. Their voice phone number is listed, so you could ask Zack if he has the stuff you're after.

Thanks everyone..
I'm checking Zack and Ruby for
mock-croc tolex. I'll report back
if I find any.
