MusicMan Amp.... Dear All, I have just been given a MusicMan 212 SixtyFive which doesn't really work. Judging from the guts inside it probably would be easy to fix, but I was instead thinking of putting in a nice preamp (the current one is solidstate) and keeping the tube power amp which uses 6CA7's. Thing is I can't figure something out. According to schematics for the chassis no. 2475-65 the output trans is supposed to be marked 3-65, which would translate to 3k primary and 65 watts right? Instead it has a 5-75 bolted to the chassis. Has this amp been modified to work with the tubes in triode operation as opposed to pentode or something? Pardon my ignorance though, I'm not sure, so maybe you guys can help. |
