Re: Trainwreck Amps I've come across people who don't have the highest regard for GW and do for KF. KF I understand, he was the first 'big guy' to respond to me with a personal letter when I started doing tube amps. But GW has personally answered at least 5 of my letters and when I was first starting out, he talked me through setting the bias by transformer shunt on the phone. He didn't have to do that. I was no big client, just a guy with questions. Mike T. |

| PAUL C | There's a string on Vin. Guitar BBS that deals with the Weber/Fischer amp deal. People were slamming Weber about the amp he's making for Trainwreck. The funny thing is none of 'em have even heard it yet! Weber is a great guy! A few years ago I was having a problem with an amp and I thought I'd call Weber for some hints. He wasn't in, but he latter called me at home to help me out! That was way cool of him, and I've been a fan ever since. I don't go along with everything he says, but since everyone has their own taste in "tone" it really doesn't matter if I agree. He helped a young guy starting out, so he's cool in my book. Now, back to Fischer - I've read several times were he's said that the "best" B+ for EL84's is 330vdc. Does anybody know if he was talking plate to ground, or plate to cathode? What ever it is I said it once so I'll say it again - TRAINWRECKS RULE!!! |

| anonymous | Try to call Weber now! They make you fax your questions in and charge you $40.00 per question. Dont get any ideas R.G.!! |

| PAUL C | Actually, I was signed up to his tech service about 2 years ago. It was $40, but that was for 6 months of help. It might be different now, but it was worth it back then. I don't see any need for it now, though, because all I have to do is come here and ask you guys now. |
