Isn't there a copy of the schematic for the Lafayette fuzz in that book? Would you be willing to send me a copy of it?

regards, Jack

I have the 3rd edition ©1973, and the only fuzz schematic in it is credited to "Allied Radio Shack." I'll draw it up and post it on the schematics page in the next day or two.

I think R.G. might have the 4th edition, so perhaps we could ask him if any other fuzzes were added in.

Jack (and anyone else who's interested) -

The schematic is now available on the schematics page. Sorry there were no clues in the book as to the identity of the semiconductors.

In response to a request for the schematic, I drew up the only likely target from Darr's book and posted on GEO. The fellow that was asking for it tells me that the schematic is NOT the same as the LRE he's trying to fix. This one wasn't even credited to Allied, or anyone else, just presented as a "typical" fuzz. It's still there on GEO, if you'd like to have a look.

I'd like to see it, R.G., but after a thorough search of GEO, I'll be darned if I can find a link to it. Where the heck did you hide it?

ooops...

OK, it's there now. Under "schematics" in the "DIY effects" section. When you said that, I remembered that I had removed it after the fellow that requested it said it didn't match his box. I actually traced out a real LRE at one time in the past, but I can't find the tracing now.

Thanks, R.G.

Now that I've seen it again I do remember looking at it when you had it posted before. It is the one from Allied Radio, sold under their Knight brand name. I wish I had remembered before setting out to draw the schematic myself. O well, care for a fresh new copy? ;) I'll send you the postscript file if you want it.
