I'll try to get that set of articles edited into the Tube Amp FAQ or otherwise make it available on my web page.  
 
The idea is simple: use a separate low voltage transformer connected with it's primary across the AC line, and it's secondary in series from the AC line to the amplifier AC line input phased to subtract the low voltage from the AC line the amplifier sees.  
 
If you use a 12VAC transformer, and have 120VAC coming in, you get 108VAC out of this mess. If your amp was designed for 110VAC, this makes the amp much happier.
