| moocow | Re: not a problem at all Yes, it was a great comeback but it was also a compliment! I do mostly amp work, and it is true that some amps will make even crappy pickups sound good. These amps are rare, though, and it's a good thing for pickup winders that there aren't more of them around. You can get a guy like this to shut up by keeping a guitar around loaded with a Lace sensors, Fender Noiseless, Duncans, Kinmans, etc., anything that has the name printed on the pickup so the guitarist knows exactly what they're using. A Lace sensor is good because it is epoxied together and you can't be accused of taking it apart and making it sound bad. Anyway, having some other pickups around would allow people to hear how much better your pickups sound, regardless of the amp. |
