Re: Warning Scotch 235 black paper tape DON'T USE
Has anyone actually listened to an A/B comparison of 2 identical pickups except for one having #235 tape and the other having #12 tape? I'm not saying that there is no audible difference but has anyone actually checked? If there is a meaningful difference then it should stick out like a sore thumb between two nearly identical pickups. Anyone?

I'm sure this will sound pompous but I sort of understand where Wolfe is coming from. I have come up with a winder innovation that would make anyone doing a serious amount of winding wet themselves with sheer delight if they knew about it. Some may already be doing it, but if they are they are wisely keeping it to themselves because it is a HUGE time saver. I have shared things in the past and have had a hard time not spilling the beans about this but it is just too good to let go. I actually feel guilty for not fully exploiting it's potential but I am busy enough making effects that I have not had the time to fully focus on pickup making. By the way I am absolutely serious and not poking fun in any way. It is way bigger from a business perspective than the type of tape used in humbuckers. This whole thread actually confirms to me that not sharing it was the right choice.
