Dave Stephens	how to determine insulation wire thickness I'm trying to do some research on old wire and some newer wire, magnet wire I mean. How can you measure insulation thickness on plain enamel and poly wire? Is there a way to remove the insulation from magnet wire and leave undisturbed bare copper core to get an accurate reading? You can't sand it obviously becuase you remove the core partially in doing so, poly and enamel both have different properties so what would work on plain enamel wouldn't work on poly wire, need some help here.....anyone????? Dave
