By my read, it's pretty narrowly defined and doesn't cover just any old assymetrical humbucker. It has to be both... 1) ...a different wire gauge on each coil (e.g., slug coil #43 wire, screw coil #42), AND; 2) Have "sustantially the same number of turns" on the two coils, which I interpret to mean that if the difference in the number of turns on your assymetrical bucker is 300, you're safe -- but if the difference is 3, you're in violation of the patent. |
