| MKB | Re: Making a hall-effect magnetic field meter I built a gaussmeter much as you described a few years ago, from a circuit published in the Melexis hall effect handbook. The handbook was supplied with a hall effect sample kit, included in the kit was a calibrated linear hall effect IC as well as a few magnets. The gaussmeter was extremely simple, just a 9V battery, panel meter, and pot IIRC. If anyone is interested I'll try to dig out the schematic and post it. It works really well BTW. Not sure how well its absolute calibration is, but it works very well measuring relative magnetic strength and polarity between magnets and pickups. |
