2 meaningless questions

Dan2 meaningless questions
Just out of curiousity.

Why did Marshall use an early value of 8.2k in the power supply then switch to 20k? What advantage does that have?

Also. Is there an advantage to puting the standby before the rectifier on the AC instead of after the rectifier on the DC? I notice vintage and modern amps do it both ways depending on the manu. and model. Im cheap and Id rather pay for a SPST switch :)

Thanks

Dan
