They can take the heat, and have that unbeatable fender clean 'jangle' thing going on. You don't know you're missing it on the other speakers until you go back and then you have an "ah ha!" moment.. at least I did. - the Celestions mentioned can do a very nice job (and get you closer to 'marshall' territory if you plug in a HB guitar and crank it up) Not sure if I'm brave enough to try a bulldog in a DR.. I fear for the one in my 5E3, and a DR puts out a lot more power. They're just too expensive to blow. - a kendrick blackframe (old style) is a great all around speaker and super efficient with amazing bass. An original P12N would be hard to beat if the budget would bear it.
