| Bjorn | New Princton Rev needs modding Hi, I’m returning here after a pause of a couple of years (I’ve been a frequent lurker though). I need your help again… I’ve just acquired a 1966 FMI BF Princeton Reverb (swapped it for a completely rebuilt Marshall BB 1997 RI). I feel I need to do some mods to this virgin amp. I’m planning to install a Celestion Blue 12” or a Weber blue Dog 12” in a new baffle. I will do a “cap job” and also install a Bias pot. -The “PI B+ mod” a lá John Stokes AKA Tremolux” – I would appreciate any info on this mod from guys actually performed the mod – is it worth it? -Any info on the “Paul C mod”, or the “Converting the split phase mod” (http://people.cornell.edu/pages/mt24/Amp/...) any info here? -Any opinions on the value on the PI cap? -Sceen grid resistors – should I install? -The tube schem in my cabinet says “AA764” and indicates a GZ34 (which is installed) but I can only find printed schem’s “AA1164” showing a 5U4GB – which one to choose? I plan to use 6V6’s. -I would like some headroom… -The “cap can” where can I get a replacement? ANY input is greatly appreciated! Bjorn |
