The Princeton circuit works by changing the bias voltage on the power tubes to turn them off and actually requires a fair amount of voltage to work. The Harmonic Vibrato operates on the preamp tubes so only a few volts are necessary to turn them off. The Princeton circuit is also prone to causing thump from the speakers.
